Authentic, unfiltered, meaningful listening.

Authentic, unfiltered, meaningful listening.

Authentic, unfiltered, meaningful listening is the cornerstone of effective mentorship. When you are truly listened to, you are provided a safe space to express yourself openly, without fear of judgment. This type of listening goes beyond merely hearing words; it involves understanding emotions, intentions, and the nuances of what is being communicated.

I like to ask open-ended questions that encourage deeper exploration of thoughts and feelings, so I can understand your perspective, acknowledge your unique experiences and challenges, so your feelings are validated and we can establish a trusting and open relationship.

Meaningful listening is an active process that helps me to offer relevant and impactful guidance, whilst fostering a nurturing and supportive environment. By truly understanding your goals and struggles, I can tailor my advice to be more effective and empowering.

In essence, authentic, unfiltered, and meaningful listening is about creating a dialogue that is both constructive and compassionate, ultimately leading to a more enriching results.

Client Testimonial

“I’ve been reflecting on your comments about mentoring and coaching, and I’ve definitely been benefiting directly from your skill set in this area! Honestly, though, I reckon it’s your intelligence that initially draws people in. They can sense they’re in a safe space with you, which encourages them to open up. It’s rare to find someone who isn’t pushing their own agenda, and that’s a big part of what makes you so well-suited for the role.

I wanted to share these thoughts with you and hope you take them as a compliment because that’s exactly how it’s meant. I’m also really grateful for the help you’ve given me. There have been lots of micro moments that have led me to take the steps I’m taking now, and you’ve definitely been part of that. So, a big thanks!

On another note, I’ve signed my second client! I’m still in the throes of imposter syndrome and a confidence crisis, but I’m starting to see how this is all part of the benefits and huge learning curve that is offered for me with this next chapter.

Here's to people making themselves better versions of themselves (and at the same time, liking what they do!) ”
